Mantichora - is a stunning African predator from the ground beetle family (Carabidae). I am absolutely fascinated by this insect. Its armored body, fused elytra and massive, assimetrical mandibles allow males to successfully hunt diverse prey, battle for territory and capture mates. The Manticora is capable of overpowering dangerous adversaries like scorpions, tarantulas and other large African arthropods which also are predators of the micro-world.
